Spectator policies for Athletics for the Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush:
DUE TO CURRENT COVID-19 GUIDELINES, SPECTATORS ARE NOT PERMITTED AT ANY INDOOR EVENTS
SPECTATORS ARE NOT TECHNICALLY PERMITTED TO ATTEND OUTDOOR EVENTS EITHER BUT SINCE THEY ARE (USUALLY) PLAYED AT PUBLIC OR SEMI-PUBLIC VENUES, ALL SPECTATORS ARE ASKED TO STAY AWAY FROM ALL STUDENTS AND STAFF INCLUDING AT THE END OF THE CONTESTS
Please note that each school creates their own individual policy in regards to spectators. WE CAN NOT control the policies of other schools.
Some schools allow spectators and some do not. It is their option if they charge a fee or not.
Volleyball and Basketball:
Location= SCHOOL GYM – 11081 Knights Road, 19154
Admission: FREE
WHO: Current students, current parents/guardians, alumni in good standing with school, parents/guardians from away team, siblings of players WHEN accompanied by a parent/guardian or responsible adult over 21.
STUDENTS FROM AWAY SCHOOLS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN GYM during games
It is expected that students, staff, and parents/guardians from the Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush demonstrate appropriate behavior.
volleyball: gym must be silent during serving and all spectators must sit opposite team side at least 10 yards from judges stand
Basketball: fans may cheer at any point. fans may not be on team side of gym or directly behind basket. Fans must also stay at least 10 feet from sideline
SOCCER, FIELD HOCKEY, SOFTBALL, BASEBALL:
Academy Sabres fields = Academy and Torrey 19154 and 3331 Byberry 19154
Admission: FREE
WHO: There are no restrictions. Anyone may attend games. NO spectators may sit with teams or go within coaching areas.
For Baseball and Softball, spectators must stay behind fence and NOT go behind the batting cage
For Soccer, spectators must stay at least 10 yards from sideline AND go on opposite side of teams. Spectators may go on team side if they are at least 30 feet from team areas and do not walk in front or behind the teams
No whistles. Horns or other noise makers are permitted before 5:00pm
